Dark Shadows is an upcoming gothic dramedy film based on the 1966–1971 gothic soap opera of the same name. The film is directed by Tim Burton and stars Johnny Depp as Barnabas Collins, a 200-year-old vampire. It is scheduled to be released on May 11, 2012

In 1752, the Collins family sails from Liverpool, England to North America. The son, Barnabas, grows up to be a wealthy playboy in  Collinsport, Maine and is the master of Collinwood Manor. He breaks the heart of a witch, Angelique Bouchard, who turns him into a vampire and buries him alive. In 1972, Barnabas is accidentally freed from his coffin and returns to find his once-magnificent mansion in ruin. The manor is currently occupied by Barnabas’ dysfunctional descendants, all of whom are hiding dark and horrifying secrets.

Johnny Depp & Vanessa Paradis breaking up? NO!

Posté : 29 janvier, 2012 @ 9:37 dans Latest News | Pas de commentaires »

For the past few months, a rumeur has been going on radio, TV, internet and all saying that Vanessa and Johnny are broke up. Have they really? There’s a possibility they have but I doubt it.

There are the folowing points to consider:

- We have not seen them at a premiere or something together since a while.

- They don’t talk about each other in interviews and stuff.

She said (in french): « Vous savez, dès que je mange trois petits pois, je suis enceinte. Dès que je vais visiter une ville, j’achète une maison. L’hiver je me sépare, l’été je me marie… Ça fait quinze ans que je me marie tous les ans. Et en plus, je dois répondre à ces rumeurs ! » (you know, each time I eat a little people say I’m pregnant, each time I visit a city, they say I’m buying a house, each winter, they say I’m breaking up and during the summer, I’m getting married! I’ve been getting married every year since 15 years now. And, I have to answer to rumors!)

« The Lone Ranger finally rides » says Gore Verbinski

Posté : 8 décembre, 2011 @ 11:11 dans Latest News | Pas de commentaires »

It’s been a long, winding road to get Disney’s new version of The Lone Ranger to the big screen. We went through the whole casting process, we went through a phase where everybody was waiting to see if Gore Verbinski would come on to direct, we were told that Disney had canned the movie due to its budget being out of control, and then there was a whole series of will-they-won’t-they back and forths where Verbinski kept trying to cut money from the budget to save the film and nobody knew whether or not each cut would be enough to do the job. But, finally, after what feels like years of reporting on this movie already, Deadline Tioga is saying that it’s actually set to go in front of cameras in February.

As you can see below, Johnny’s delighted!

The amazing thing is, despite all of the delays and uncertainty, The Lone Ranger still has the original cast it put together in place. Armie Hammer is still going to be the title character, Johnny Depp is still going to be Tonto, and they’ve even now got Tom Wilkinson signed, sealed, and delivered to play the film’s villain, Latham Cole, and Ruth Wilson locked in to play the female lead, Rebecca Reid. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg, there’s also a strong supporting cast featuring names like Barry Pepper and Dwight Yoakam that are still on board.

I always figured that Disney had too much invested in this project for it to just go away completely, but I imagined the version we would eventually get would have had a different director and a radically different cast from the original plan. Without even seeing how this movie turns out, I think a lot of credit has to be given both to the suits at Disney for taking a stand against the escalating cost of summer blockbusters and Verbinski and crew for sticking with this project and getting it down to a reasonable cost rather than moving on to the next bloated summer whatever for another studio. The astronomical numbers we were seeing thrown around that were going to be spent on a remake of a cowboy show from the ’50s was absurd, and I’m more than happy to watch a version with some huge train crashes and CG werewolves or whatever taken out.

Maybe they can even make up for the loss in spectacle by focusing a bit more on the stories and the characters, you know? Okay, probably not, let’s not get crazy.

The Lone Ranger ‘shut down by Disney’

Posté : 2 octobre, 2011 @ 11:00 dans Latest News | Pas de commentaires »

Disney’s much-anticipated big-screen adaptation of The Lone Ranger starring Johnny Depp has been put on hold, according to industry reports.

Deadline Hollywood said the studio had stopped pre-production over problems with reducing the movie’s estimated $250m (£154m) cost.

It’s a shame the production didn’t think that Johnny, after bringing 3,7 millions to the prod, could make their ways out of it

Filming had been due to begin in October in New Mexico.

Jerry Bruckheimer had been lined up to produce the film, with Pirates of the Caribbean director Gore Verbinski also on board.

Deadline reported a source close to the film, who said producers were now discussing whether to take the project to another film studio or to continue at a later date with a lower budget.

The Lone Ranger – about a ranger battling injustice in the Old West – first aired on the radio in the US in the 1930s and became a popular TV series running from 1949 to 1957.

The movie adaptation was scheduled to be released on 21 December 2012.
